SPACE SPECIALISTS OFFER SUPPORT TO MARATHON RUNNERS
A team of specialists from Edinburgh based Space Clinics is offering discount vouchers to runners who are raising money for Leukaemia CARE in Scotland in the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 27th May.
These runners are invited to take advantage of the services offered by the company’s chartered physiotherapists who have skills and experience in sports injury, back pain, post-op rehabilitation, manipulation and motor control. Additional specialists include an orthopaedic consultant and surgeon, sports psychologists, podiatrists, massage therapists, and sports and fitness conditioners.
Co-owner of Space and Scotland’s most capped international rugby player, Gregor Townsend said: “In our business, we are acutely aware of the injuries runners can sustain both in training and during events as well as the disappointment these injuries can cause to those people who have been looking forward to taking part for many months. Leukaemia CARE in Scotland offers an invaluable service and we’re delighted to offer our services to ensure that the Edinburgh Marathon is a memorable experience for the charity’s runners – for all the right reasons.” If you would like to find out more about Space Clinics please check out their website on www.spaceclinics.com and if you would like to book an appointment with one of the experienced staff members at Space Clinics please contact the clinic direct on 0131 3133999.
Runners taking part in the Marathon on behalf of Leukaemia CARE in Scotland can contact the charity on 0131 6684345 and speak to Sophie Ashcroft to receive their discount vouchers which can be used before, during or after the race.
Leukaemia CARE in Scotland’s Liaison Officer, Sophie Ashcroft said: “Our runners do a fantastic job raising vital funds for us and in return we aim to look after them by offering them lots of support. Space looks after sports stars and professionals so we know our runners will be in safe hands and it’s great that they’re joining forces with us to make sure our runners are in tip top shape so that they can get the most out of what is a very special day for them. “
In addition to discount vouchers from Space, Leukaemia CARE in Scotland is also offering its runners a Leukaemia CARE in Scotland training pack - running vest, bumbag and a reflective wristband; training, nutrition and preparation advice; a personalised sponsorship page at workwithus.org; access to our Runners’ Forum; and personal fundraising advice and support.
If you would like to join the 12,000 people expected to enter this year’s race but haven’t yet secured a place, Leukaemia CARE in Scotland still has a number of guaranteed places available to anyone who would like to raise money for the national charity.
Alternatively, if you already have a place but haven’t yet chosen a charity to run for, then why not run for Leukaemia CARE in Scotland and help us to continue providing vital care and support to blood and lymphatic cancer patients, their families and carers.
