Space Clinics continues to grow
Space Clinics saw the departure of one of their original members in October 2006. James Saunders, aka Shambles, left these shores to spend some time travelling with his fiancée Kate on their way back to New Zealand. The directors at Space Clinics would like to take this opportunity to thank James for all his hard work at Space Clinics which began back in February 2005 at the initial start up. He will be sorely missed by staff and patients alike. But watch this Space we may be able to entice him back again.
All is not lost however as James’ position was taken up by Mairi MacPhail. A physiotherapist with many years experience, she joined Space Clinics in October 2006 after spending a number of seasons at Livingston Football Club as team physiotherapist and with the Scotland U18 rugby squad. She has also been physiotherapist to Edinburgh Rugby, Glasgow Rugby, Scotland 7’s and the Scotland Women’s team.
Due to the continued success of Space Clinics we have also taken on another part-time Physiotherapist, this time in the shape of Oliver Finlay. Following a season as Head of Medical Services & Exercise Science for Heart of Midlothian FC, Olli will now be working with a number of sporting groups including the Edinburgh Rugby Team. He has gained many years of experience through working with the Scottish Institute of Sport, GB Canoeing, England and GB Hockey, Scotland Lacrosse and the Football Association.
Appointments are still available with the usual suspects, Stuart (Turtle) Barton, Stephen (Tin Tin) Mutch, Matt (Derrick) Merrick, Gillian (Guns) Main, Toni (Whirlwind) Blacklock and Gordon (Ramsay) MacKay. You will still find Sharon (Guinness) Cleghorn on reception and she has been joined by Jess (Jezebel) Ventress who takes over the reins in the evenings.
We welcome Jess, Mairi and Olli to our team and look forward to Space Clinics continuing to grow.
